José Socorro “CoCo” Mata Chávez nació en México el 13 de junio de 1969, hijo de Urbano Mata y María Soledad Chávez. Falleció el sábado 2 de marzo de 2024, a la edad de 59 años, en Longview, Texas, con su familia a su lado.

CoCo era un amoroso esposo, padre, hermano e hijo. Era un hombre trabajador que pasó muchos años como fabricante de remolques. Siempre vio la vida desde una perspectiva positiva y estaba lleno de bromas y risas.

A CoCo le sobreviven su esposa, Audelia Torres Rangel Mata, sus queridos hijos, Jesús Mata y su esposa, Adriana Mata, Martha Martínez y su esposo, Hilario Martínez y Adán Mata; Madre, María Soledad Chávez Flores y hermanos, Carmelo y esposa, Cunda Mata, Juan C y esposa, Guadalupe Mata, Froilán Mata, Filiberto y esposa, Yzetta Mata, Abelino Mata y esposa, Maria, Ana y esposo, Damián Pérez, Luisa Mata, David y esposa , Estella Mata; cuñada, Eva Mata, 7 nietos, Annalie Mata, Ivan Martinez, Lucas Mata, Tania Martinez, Josué Mata, Jade Martinez y Cáleb Mata, así como numerosas sobrinas y sobrinos.

Le precedieron en la muerte su padre Urbano Mata y su hermano Mariano Mata.

Familiares y amigos se reunirán en la Capilla de Servicios Funerarios de Aguilar el lunes 4 de marzo de 2024 para un velorio entre las 5:00 p.m. a 23:00 h. Se llevará a cabo una misa de funeral en la Iglesia Católica del Sagrado Corazón el martes 5 de marzo de 2024 a las 11:00 a. m. Seguirá el entierro y Coco será enterrada en el cementerio de Winfield.

Jose Socorro “CoCo” Mata Chavez was born in Mexico on June 13, 1969, to Urbano Mata and Maria Soledad Chavez. He passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the age of 59, in Longview, Texas, with his family by his side.  

CoCo was a loving husband, father, brother, and son. He was a hardworking man that spent many years as a trailer fabricator. He always saw life in a positive light and was full of jokes and laughter.  

Coco is survived by his wife, Audelia Torres Rangel Mata, his loving children, Jesus Mata and wife, Adriana Mata, Martha Martinez and husband, Hilario Martinez and Adan Mata; Mother, Maria Soledad Chavez Flores and siblings, Carmelo and wife, Cunda Mata, Juan C and wife, Guadalupe Mata, Froilan Mata, Filiberto and wife, Yzetta Mata, Abelino Mata and wife, Maria, Ana and husband, Damien Perez, Luisa Mata, David and wife, Estella Mata; sister-in-law, Eva Mata, 7 grandchildren, Annalie Mata, Ivan Martinez, Lucas Mata, Tania Martinez, Josué Mata, Jade Martinez  and Cáleb Mata, as well as numerous nieces & nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his father Urbano Mata and Brother Mariano Mata. 

Family and friends will gather at the Aguilar Funeral Services Chapel on Monday, March 4, 2024, for a Visitation between 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. The Burial will follow, and Coco will be laid to rest at the Winfield Cemetery.
