Taylor Scott Weems, of Mount Vernon, left behind his earthly vessel Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the age of 32. He was born on April 22, 1993, in Temple, Texas, to Cristy (Edwards) Orr and Scotty Wayne Weems.
He attended Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, TX, and Rogers High School in Rogers, TX. He participated in football as a Rogers Eagles. In the chase for an area Championship, Taylor was a defensive end, first team all-district. Taylor had a love of all sports including billiards and outdoor activities such as fishing and playing cornhole.
He was talented in many ways; his most recent occupation was that of a tube mill operator at Preifert Manufacturing in Mount Pleasant. Taylor left his mark on this world as an accomplished self-taught musician, which he inherited from his loving dad, Scott, who introduced him to the Blues.
Taylor served Veterans, their families, children, and our community through his time as a volunteer of the Sons of the American Legion Post 243 in Mount Vernon. He was most passionate about seeking out truth and spreading his vast knowledge and opinions of today's issues around the world, by word of mouth and social media, to better the lives of his family, friends, and all mankind.
Taylor's favorite color was red. His eyes were a captivating shade of blue like the ocean on a cloudless day. Blonde curls, the hue of beach sand, framed the perfection of his face. A smile that lit the room as the sun does at dawn. An overwhelming heart that beat to its own drum. Tenacious and talented in all things worthy of his attention. A laugh that filled the soul of those who were fortunate enough for it to have graced their ears. A soul of magnificent generosity. An empathetic, ferocious protector. An incomparable soul created for another time and place.
No longer bound to this world, our son is finally free.
He is preceded in death by his Grandmother, Charla Woodson of Whitewright, Tx and David and Sherri Orr of Mount Vernon.
