Sheryl Lynn (Stricklen) Orr

Sheryl Lynn Orr, 75, passed away on January 17, 2022 in Mount Pleasant, Texas.  She was born on September 05, 1946 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Dalton Ernest Stricklen and Norma Colleen (George) Stricklen.

Sheryl and her husband, David moved to Mount Vernon in 1972 where they raised their three sons. She received her Bachelors Degree in Human Resources at East Texas State University in the early 1990's after her boys were in high school.  She served as the Business Office Manager for East Texas Medical Center in Mount Vernon and Pittsburg.  Sheryl was a member of Macon Baptist.  She was very active with the Franklin County Youth Baseball Association for many years where she served as the head scorekeeper. Sheryl loved her family, traveling with her husband David, was a avid reader and shopping.

Sheryl is preceded in death by her husband, William David Orr and one son, Jason Scott Orr.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons, Chris Orr and wife, Cristy of Mount Vernon, and Michael Orr; three grandsons, Michael Scott Orr, Kaden Wyatt Orr, and Taylor Scott Weems; two sisters, Carole Jackson of Elk City, OK and Jana Lemons of Okay, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 6-8:00PM at Collvins Memorial Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 2:00PM at Collvins Memorial Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Rockhill Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
