Michael G. Wright

Michael Gene Wright, of Detroit, Texas, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the age of 61. He was born in Franklin County on November 4, 1963, to Margaret (Fry) and Claiborne Wright.

He is reunited in death with his parents, and siblings, Travis, Richard, and Kimbrough Wright.

Michael leaves behind to carry his memory his siblings, Ann Cook and husband Benny and Rudy Wright; nieces Lindsey Bounds and husband Rock, Sydnee Rhodes, and Jordan Shofner and partner Jeremy Star; great-niece Alaina Rhodes and great-nephews Braxton Bounds and Blake Rhodes.

Michael was a man who enjoyed the outdoors, working the land with his hands, and could be found river rock hunting. He was extremely proud of his heritage, and family history and was an avid genealogy historian. He was full of wisdom and offered his insight to family and friends. He also enjoyed playing card games and dominoes. His family will remember him most for being a loving and caring person.

Michael will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life that will be held to honor Michael on Saturday, February 1, 2025, between 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Aguilar Funeral Chapel.
