Maria Isabel (Fernandez) Guerra

Maria Isabel Guerra, of Mount Pleasant, entered the arms of God on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the age of 67. She was born in Nuevo Ideal, Durango, Mexico on June 1, 1958, to Pedro Fernandez and Leonarda (Martinez) Fernandez.

She is preceded in death by her father, Pedro Fernandez.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Raúl Guerra García; children, Claudia Guadalupe Contreras, Pedro Enrique Contreras, Israel Contreras, Cinthya Contreras; grandchildren, Isabel Sharpe, Jessica Morales, Angelica Contreras, Cristian Contreras, J'Anthony Vargas, Destiny Contreras, Ericka  Morales, Jaime Don Juan, Jose Morales Jr., and Jordan Don Juan; great-grandchildren, Lamar, Chloe, Isaiah, Noah, Kaylee, Sophia, Aida Grace, Connor, Joaquin, Joel; mother, Leonarda Martinez; siblings, Maria de Jesus, Rosa Maria, Marta Sylvia, Pedro, Jose Andres, Juan Carlos, Jorge Alberto Fernandez, Lillia Ester Hernandez, Victor Manuel, Fabian Alejandro and Flor Maria Fernandez; siblings, numerous nieces and nephews, whom she all loved very much, as well as her faithful canine companions, her adored chihuahua's, Wendy, and Cookie (also known as, "Baby") and beloved grand-dog, Rocky.

Isabel was a hard-working woman. Showing her strengths as a lead at her job, for many years helping to provide for her family and take care of them. She was talented in many ways. Baking delicious cakes, of all kinds, or making a great meal, she was an amazing cook and made all her meals with lots of love.  You could count on her to knit you a lovely scarf or hat, made in her own spare time. Gardening is another pastime she enjoyed. Working the ground with her hands and seeing her harvest brought her much joy.

She was also devout in her faith. Isabel showed the love of God in all she did. Whether it was to help someone out or be a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, she was a beautiful person, inside and out. She cherished her time with her family and friends.

There's no doubt that Isabel will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:30 am at the St. Michael Catholic Church. Family and Friends will gather at the Aguilar Funeral Chapel following the Mass from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Services will conclude in the Chapel after the Visitation.
