Macie Louise (Hargraves) Evans, of Mount Vernon, went up to Glory on Thursday, October 31, 2024. She was born in Franklin County on January 11, 1959, to her parents, Hazel Frances (Pounders) and George Hargraves, Sr.
She is reunited in heaven with her parents, George and Hazel Hargraves, sisters Lola Galloway and Margaret Rozsier, brothers Rondald Hargraves and George Hargraves, Jr., Uncle Grant Pounders, and his wife, Yvonne, and niece Mente Galloway.
Survivors include her beloved husband of over 50 years, Michael Dean Evans; her children, Tammy Clayton and her husband Tyone, Marcus Evans and his wife Kim, and Mitch Evans; grandchildren Teaira, Tamera, Julian, Aliana, and Arcelia; great-grandchildren Breea, Brooklyn, Zhane, Zoey, Zaylee, Iyana, and Ivy; sisters Georgia Johnson and her husband Skip, and Arlue Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Macie was known for spending time with her adored grandchildren. She loved to gamble and visit the casino, but most of all she enjoyed playing BINGO. Always on the go, Macie was social and had many friends. She was especially giving of her time and was available to help any family and friends that asked of her. She was a tremendously hard worker as she spent over 20 years as a local Paramedic. With her medical background, she provided excellent care for her husband and ensured he had the best loving care possible. Macie will be forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Denton Baptist Church on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00 am, with Pastor Don Monroe as the Officiant. Services will conclude at the church. In honor of Macie, all are encouraged to wear purple on the day of her service.
Pallbearers will be Steven Pounders, Jeremy Monroe, Kadee Monroe, Curtis Galloway, Kary Pounders, and Charles Russell.
The Evans Family would like to thank Mary Bell, the wonderful team at Cypress Basin Hospice, Titus Regional Medical Center and UT Tyler for their medical care, Don Monroe and family, Book Temple Church, Courtney Hollis and family, and all family and friends that checked on us during her time of sickness.
