Linda Kay (Foster) Ivey

Linda Kay Foster Ivey of Winnsboro, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025. She was born in Memphis, Texas on October 7, 1941, to Flora Inez (Nelson) and Jack Birdwell Foster.

Born with a generous spirit and a creative heart, Kay, also known as Mama Kay, was known by family and friends as a cook extraordinaire - she arguably made the best pies in Texas! - an artist, entrepreneur and a talented photographer. She found joy in capturing life's beauty—whether in the kitchen, behind a camera lens, or through her many creative endeavors. Over the years, Kay owned and ran IV's Hungry Cowboy, was an outdoor and wedding photographer and also enjoyed a career as a realtor.

Kay's greatest love was her family. She is survived by her four children: Kindra Ivey (partner Jamie Vandivere), Cindy Ivey Anderson, Cole Ivey (wife Jana), and Nancy Ivey Rice; her grandchildren: Monte Davis, Halee Davis, Logan Davis (Pam), Ryan Atkins (Jenna), Makenzie Fowler Luna, Cody Ivey (Lauren), Courtney Ivey LaRoe (Chance), Kelsey Ivey Capra (Micah), and Dax Rice; and her great-grandchildren: Alex Davis; Brett and Lexi Davis; Elliott Sharp; Brynzleigh and Jack Alvarez; Colt and Clay Ivey; Cayson and Collin LaRoe; and Sawyer and Roman Capra.

She is also survived by her sister, Jane Breitenfeld (Gunter).

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Inez (Nelson) Foster; her sister, Rena Miglore; and her granddaughter, Samantha Kay Ivey.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Aguilar Funeral Chapel, 912 State Hwy 37, Mt. Vernon, Texas 75457.

In lieu of flowers, Mama Kay suggested memorials be made to the Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center, 5920 State Hwy 37, Winnsboro, TX 75494, or the East Texas Food Bank, 3201 Robertson Road, Tyler, TX 75701.
