Obituary

Jeri Lynn Harkrider Teague, of Mount Vernon, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the age of 67. She was born in Mount Pleasant, Texas on February 2, 1959, to Jerry and Jean (Barton) Harkrider.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Jeri Lynn was a devoted mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, and friend. But more than any title she carried, she was the heart of her family. Her love was steady, selfless, and fierce; the kind that wrapped around you and made you feel safe no matter what. She had a way of making each person feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. She was in every sense of the phrase, one hell of a mother. She wasn’t afraid to say exactly what was on her mind, sometimes with a little colorful language mixed in and that was part of what made her so real and so loved. Her playful cussing, her quick wit, and her unfiltered honesty brought laughter and authenticity into every room she entered.

To know her was to be touched by her kindness. She had a light about her that brightened every room she entered and every life she encountered. She poured herself into her family, celebrating their victories, comforting them in their struggles, and standing beside them through every season. Her love created a foundation that will continue to hold her family together for generations.

She leaves behind a family who adored her and countless friends whose lives are better because she was in them. Survivors include her beloved daughters, Misty Teague and wife, Carlye Teague, Marcy Jean Teague and Linda Teague and partner, Kolt Landers; sons, Shawn Teague and Michael Teague; grandchildren, Chris Standard, Kaiden Bryson, Karsyn Bryson, Olivia Propps, Kady Lynn Landers and bonus grandchildren, Allysah Diggs and Autumn Sides; siblings, Brenda Carol Harkrider Shoemaker, Jeri Dianne Harkrider Keefer, Donna Sherry Harkrider Johnson, Jerry Harkrider, Jr.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Though our world feels a little dimmer without her physical presence, the light she gave us remains. It shines in the lessons she taught, the memories she created, and the love she instilled in all of us.

Family and friends will honor Jeri Lynn with a Graveside Service on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the East New Hope Cemetery in Mount Pleasant at 2:00 p.m.

Her legacy is not only in the family she raised, but in the countless lives she quietly and powerfully impacted. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and always remembered as the light that illuminated our world.
