Janet Mae Latham, of Pittsburg, entered the arms of God on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born to Myrtle J. (Swofford) and Charles H. Bell on June 23,1938, in Carmi, Illinois.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Robert Latham, as well as 2 great grandchildren, Pepper Cole Parker and Tanner Parker, and beloved canine companion, “50.”

Survivors include her children, daughter, Martha Waldon and partner, Michael Long, Charles Poole and wife, Lonna, son, James Parker and wife, Minta, and son, Joe Parker and partner, Laura Holster, 19 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Janet was known for her great love for her family. Spending time with them meant everything to her and she cherished the memories and moments that they shared. She was also known for being up front and speaking her mind, especially in her golden years.

Janet worked as a caregiver throughout her life. From taking care of children in the community to working in home health, she had a heart for people.

She will greatly be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends will gather for A Celebration of Life to honor Janet on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Aguilar Funeral Chapel. Services will conclude in the chapel.
