James Roy Goodman

James Goodman, age 73, of Scroggins, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. He was born on March 22, 1952, in Hillsboro, Texas to Troy and Mable Goodman.

James moved to Dallas, where he met his beloved wife, Emily, and they were married for 48 years.

Devoted family, James cherished every moment watching his son, Christopher play soccer. He also enjoyed following professional sports events with his daughter, Amanda.

He was a kind, loving and gentle man, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His unwavering faith in God was a guiding force in his life, inspiring those around him.

James is survived by his loving wife, Emily and children, Christopher and Amanda, adopted son Andrew, and foster sons, James Hennessy and Brad Wallace, his brother, Bill Goodman and two sisters, Sue and Kay Goodman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Mable Goodman.

Family and friends will gather for a Visitation at the Oasis Church MV on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 10:00 am with the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 am. The Burial will follow out at the Providence Cemetery.

James will be deeply missed by all who knew him and his legacy of kindness and faith, will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
