James Allen Gatlin

James Allen Gatlin of Flower Mound, Texas peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the age of 91. He was born on June 16, 1931, to Archie Gatlin, and Pauline Gatlin.

James Gatlin proudly served in the U.S Air Force during the Korean War in Alaska and the Caribbean. He also achieved an associate degree in business which he put to good use. James began his career working for the Business Extension Bureau and was then transferred to Los Angeles, California. For 30 years he tirelessly and proudly built up his business National Advertising and Marketing Enterprises.

James was preceded in death by his loving parents, Archie and Pauline Gatlin, beloved wife Evelyn Gatlin, sister Mary Skinner, and grandson Chad Lackey.

He is survived by his children, Beverly Gatlin, Bruce Gatlin and wife Kim, and Brenda Gatlin. He is also survived by his grandsons, Tucker Gatlin, Caleb Gatlin and wife Carlie, and Dylan Lackey and great granddaughter, Adeline.

He will be fondly remembered as a loving father and husband. His unique personality and hardworking spirit will be sorely missed by those whom he touched during his life.

In honor of James, a Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the Mount Vernon City Cemetery at 1:00pm with Pastor Pepper Puryear as the officiant.
