Guillermo "Willie" Garcia Gonzales, of Yantis, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the age of 76. He was born in Harlingen, Texas on November 11, 1948, to Dolores (Garcia) and Guillermo Gonzales.
He leaves behind his high school sweetheart, his wife of 56 years, Rhoda Faye (Kauffman) Gonzales, children, Tina Crist and husband, Nathan, Tammy Pennington and husband, Jason; Grandchildren, Matthew Crayton (Jessica), Mark Carrasco and wife, Cinthya, Michael Carrasco, Destiny Caplinger ( Ryder), and Monica Gonzales; Great-grandchildren, Mia Crayton, Kyler Moore, Elijha Crayton, Rylie Jo Caplinger, Asiel Carrasco, Alayna Carrasco, and Sean Venegas; Family friend Hayli Stephens; Siblings, Flo Stolt, Rosalinda Csarnik, Rafael Gonzales, Natalia Goodrow, Diana Kus, Cynthia Lozoya, Ruben Gonzales, Robert Gonzales, Sandra Velez, Betty Jean Gonzales, and Mary Lou Gonzales.
Willie was a talented craftsman who enjoyed leather crafting and antler work. He was known to make beautiful and elaborate items that he was proud of (photo above). Some of his hobbies included being outdoors, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grand/great grand kids. Spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to him, and he cherished the moments they had together. He will be remembered as a hard-working family man.
Willie will be missed, and he will be remembered in our hearts.
He is preceded in death by his parents Guillermo and Dolores Gonzales, his brother Juan Gonzales, his daughter, Rachel Gonzales, and his grandson Dominic Ayala.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 3-5 pm at Seymore Bible Fellowship, 10311 TX Hwy 154 Yantis, Tx 75497.
