1954, at her parents' home in Burden, Kansas. They
moved to Dallas, Texas, in 1956. Glenn served in the
U.S. Army National Guard. Glenn was a Master Machinist
by trade. During his career, he was an inventor and co-
inventor of various machines; one of which was the first-
ever automated hard-bound bookbinding machine at
Taylor Publishing Co. It was hand-built to automate the
binding process of high school annuals and allowed Taylor
Publishing to increase their production volume.
Glenn also designed and built a tool to extract and replace
roller bearings from wheels for cleaning and lubrication.
The design was patented and used primarily for removing
and replacing bearings in roller skates. Glenn designed
this machine for his specific purpose; Mike and Robert
participated in competition roller skating and Glenn
needed a way to speed up the process of cleaning and
replacing bearings in their roller skates, which had to be
done after each practice or competition.
Glenn began a career teaching Metallurgy in 1973 at
Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas. Glenn was honored
as a DISD Teacher of the Year in 1975 and retired in
1992.
Throughout Glenn's life, he could always find a way to
improve a tool or a process. When there was no tool or
process available; he designed and built one. Obstacles
were an opportunity to create a solution.
Glenn and Leora were active members of Long Creek
Baptist Church in Sunnyvale, Texas, where Glenn served
as a Deacon. They were previous members of Bethany
Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. Glenn and Leora helped

and faithfully drove the bus each week.
