Obituary

Gerald Robert “Jerry” Woodall, 84, of Mount Vernon, Texas, passed away on May 30, 2026, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, following a brief hospital stay.

Jerry was born on March 26, 1942, in Dallas, Texas, to Weston Griffey “Bo” Woodall and Doris Cliffie Morgan Woodall. He grew up in the Dallas area and proudly served in the National Guard. On June 21, 1968, he married Nancy Jo Baker in Carrollton, Texas, beginning a partnership that would span 58 years.

Jerry and Nancy later made their home in Mount Vernon, where they owned and operated Aqua Pools, a swimming pool business, for many years. His lifelong love of hunting, fishing, boating, and the outdoors drew the couple to Franklin County and the beautiful waters of Lake Cypress Springs. Whether he was casting a line, spending time with family, or visiting with friends and neighbors, Jerry found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. A man of Baptist faith, he was known for his steady strength, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Weston Griffey “Bo” Woodall and Doris Cliffie Morgan Woodall; his sons, Weston Keith Woodall in 2002 and Kyle Lee Woodall in 2005; his sister, Patricia Buffington; and his brother, Wesley Woodall.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Jo Baker Woodall; his son, Kevin Robert Woodall and wife, Loretta, of Idabel, Oklahoma; his granddaughters, Tara Woodall of Idabel, Oklahoma, and Kendra Russell and husband, Troy, of Wylie, Texas; four great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Mary Shanklin and husband, Jack of Lufkin, Texas; his brother-in-law, James Baker and wife, Ruthie of Argyle, Texas; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.

Jerry’s legacy lives on through the family he loved the values he passed on, and the countless memories shared by those fortunate enough to know him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Macon Baptist Church on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 11:00 a. m., with Pastor Pepper Puryear as the officiant.
