Dawn Parsons

Tribute Misti "Dawn" Parsons, age 55, of Mount Vernon, passed away peacefully in mid-morning hours of Monday, July 1, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Dawn was born on June 9, 1964 in Irving, Texas to Thomas Glynn and Marilyn Virginia Smith Parsons, they survive. Following high school, Dawn worked in several different jobs doing various things, but she found her niche as the manager of the family business, The Cherry Tree, where her spirit and personality were on full display with those she was able to serve. Dawn attended the First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon where she also worked later in life taking care of the church. Those who knew Dawn best will always remember her sense of humor and her free spirit. Dawn truly loved life and was happiest being outdoors, especially at the beach. She was a "big sister" to her beloved niece and nephew and "Crazy Aunt Dawn" to all their friends. Dawn was an animal lover, especially her two chihuahuas - Tooty and Emily. Dawn was strong in her faith and believed in God. As she got older and sickness took over, Dawn was looking forward to spending her time in Heaven fishing with her beloved grandfather. Dawn is also survived by one sister, Melanie Cleveland, and husband Jim, of Mount Vernon; one nephew, John Cleveland, and wife Hayley, of Norman, Oklahoma, one niece, Katie Gambill, and husband Daniel, of Heath, Texas; two great-nephews, Gabriel and Grant; and by a host of other relatives and very special friends. A memorial service for Misti "Dawn" Parsons will be held at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Cameron Family Funeral Home in Mount Vernon with Pastor Gerald Hood officiating. . Service Details.
