David Lee Epperson of Mount Vernon entered the gates of heaven on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on May 15, 1952, to Helen Raye (Newell) and Irven Carl Epperson, Sr.
He is reunited in death with his parents, daughters Beth Hess and Heather Stephens, and siblings, Tommy and Carl Epperson and Debbie Henkel.
David leaves behind his beloved wife of 25 years, Kimberly Epperson, children Betty Schmidt and husband, Kent, Dustin Stephens and wife, Melisa, Rachel Corona and husband, Steven; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, siblings, Barbara Jones, Diane Wilson and husband, Charley, Marsha Martinez and Linda Crutchfield, brother-in-law, Jim Henkel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
David was known for "torturing," pranking, and making fun of his children and grandchildren. He was an avid 42 player and won many tournaments with his skill and knowledge of the game. David was a faithful member of the Sons of the American Legion, he enjoyed fellowshipping and working BINGO at the club. Always looking for a good deal, he would seek out ways to save a buck, or it would sometimes find him. He would even dumpster dive to find treasures to share with those he loved.
Those who knew and loved David will miss him for an eternity and he will remain forever in their hearts.
Family and friends will gather on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Aguilar Funeral Chapel beginning at 1:00 p.m. The funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m., and Pastor Jeff Whatley will be the officiant. David will be laid to rest on Thursday, January 2, 2024, at the Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville, Arkansas.
