Cristina Chavez of Mount Pleasant entered the arms of God on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the age of 57. She was born in Guanajuato, Mexico on February 1, 1969, to Antonio Chavez Barcinas and Maria Concepcion Perez Sanchez Chavez.
She is reunited in her passing with her daughter, Kendall Ramirez, father, Antonio Chavez, as well as her sister, Refugio Chavez.
Cristina came to the United States in pursuit of giving her family a better life. In her younger years, she worked as teacher in Mexico. She adored the students that she worked with and cherished her time as their instructor.
She leaves behind her beloved family, her children, Luis Chavez, Julia Martinez and partner, Albert Gonzalez, and Alicia Ramirez and husband, Angel Montillo; grandchildren, Julius Gonzalez and Francis Gonzalez; 5 siblings, numerous nieces and nephews; as well as her sweetheart, Xochitl Ramirez.
Her children recall her having a loving and gentle spirit. She was an understanding and gentle person. And at the same time, they recall her also being the life of the party.
Cristina enjoyed gardening and especially appreciated her roses. Any variety, color or size, she loved and admired them all.
Family and friends will gather to honor Cristina at the Velorio on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, beginning at 5:00 p.m., with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. And the Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Mount Vernon, Texas. Services will conclude after the mass.
Cristina Chávez de Mount Pleasant llegó a los brazos de Dios el Lunes 2 de Marzo de 2026, a la edad de 57 años. Nació en Guanajuato, México, el 1 de Febrero de 1969. Ella es hija de Antonio Chávez Barcinas y María Concepción Pérez Sánchez Chávez.
En su partida, se reúne con su hija, Kendall Ramírez; su padre, Antonio Chávez; así como con su hermana, Refugio Chávez.
Cristina llegó a los Estados Unidos buscando una mejor vida para su familia. En su juventud, trabajó como maestra en México. Adoraba a los estudiantes con quienes trabajaba y atesoraba su tiempo como instructora.
Deja atrás a su querida familia: sus hijos, Luis Chávez; Julia Martínez y su pareja, Albert González; Alicia Ramírez y su esposo, Ángel Montillo; sus nietos, Julius González y Francis González; cinco hermanos, numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas; y los querido Xochitl Ramirez.
Sus hijos la recuerdan como una persona de espíritu amoroso y dulce. Siempre fue muy comprensiva y amable. Todos la recordarán como el alma de la fiesta.
Cristina disfrutaba de la jardinería y apreciaba mucho sus rosas. Cualquier variedad, color o tamaño, las amaba y admiraba todas.
Familiares y amigos se reunirán para honrar a Cristina en su velorio el Miércoles 4 de Marzo de 2026, a partir de las 5:00 p.m., con el rezo del Santo Rosario a las 7:00 p.m. La Misa Fúnebre se celebrará el Jueves 5 de Marzo de 2026, a las 11:30 a.m., en la Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón en Mount Vernon, Texas. Los servicios concluirán después de la misa.
