Connie Sue (Reed) Alexander, of Sulphur Springs, was received into the arms of God on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born in Greenville, Texas on December 15, 1938, to Genola (Lewis) and Olin Reed.
She is reunited in death with her parents, first husband, Dorce Finnie, second husband, Cleophis "Buster" Alexander, son, Baby Finnie, grandchildren, Tedrick Antwon Dial, 2 infants Dial, baby Edwards and baby Gilbert, and siblings, James Morgan Reed, Vaurice Hollman, Willie Harris Reed, Mary Lou Riddle, and Mae Frances Whaley.
Survivors include her beloved children, Amelia Currie Reed, Brenda Kaye Finnie Gasaway, Dorce Finnie, Cynthia Ann Finnie Dial and husband Shorty, Yolanda Devette Finnie, Elisa Bell Finnie Relford; 19 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, brother, Billy Joe Reed, as well as a host of adopted children, grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends.
Raised in Sulphur Springs, Connie attended the Evening Chapel CME Church her whole life. She strongly believed in God and throughout the years she raised her family with those values and morals. She faithfully read her bible twice a day, every morning and evening.
Connie adored spending time with family. Being with them meant everything to her. She was known to have gatherings, BBQs, and play dominoes for hours on end, and she could also be found on the fishing bank, reeling in a catch. She was a people person, had many friends, and was known to help her friends solve their problems. She was also a loyal and devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, win or lose! She proudly wore their football gear and would watch every game she could.
Connie's family and friends will forever keep her in their hearts.
The Visitation will be held at the Aguilar Funeral Chapel on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at the Melhaven Cemetery in Sulphur Springs on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., with the Burial to follow. The Repass will be held at the Cypress Building at 901 Como St. S., Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
The Active Pallbearers will be Chad Finnie, Sedrick Finnie, Troy Dial, Jeffery Pitts, and Michael Thompson. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Shorty, Jaylon Whitmore, Jabari Finnie, Tyson Crook, Jovon Dial, Trevon Dial, James Johnson, Skeet Johnson, and a host of nephews.
