Tribute Brad Russell Wardrup, a loving son, brother and father of 4 children, departed our Earth and rose to Heaven at the age of 41 on Sunday, August 25, 2019, with his family by his side, at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. Brad was born on September 4, 1977 in Dallas, TX to Jerry Don (Pete) Wardrup and Carol Jean Dudik Wardrup. He graduated Mt Vernon High School in 1996, and from North East Texas Community College as a Peace Officer in 2006. Brad was employed by Franklin County Law Enforcement Center, initially as a dispatcher, then later on as an officer and K9 handler for many years. Most recently, he was employed as a mechanic at Gandy's Automotive where he enjoyed being with his friend, mentor, and brother-in-Christ - John Gandy. Brad was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs and frequently attended the Kingdom Men's Bible Study at First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon. Anyone that knew Brad, knew that he loved his kids, family and friends. He loved hunting, fishing, spending time at the deer lease and the outdoors. He also enjoyed racing hot stock cars and trucks at Miller's Cove Speedway. Brad spent many weekends racing with his Dad and Mother, who also raced along with him. He was known for his good humor and being the life of the party. He is also survived by, too numerous to list, loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and family which were very important in his life and are not forgotten. Brad was preceded in death by his loving father, Jerry (Pete) Wardrup; grandparents Glen and Aline Wardrup of Mount Vernon; and Bill and Caroline Dudik of Dallas.
