Tribute Reverend Billy Max Condrey, age 62, of Winnsboro, formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away in the late morning hours of Saturday, June 1, 2019, while doing what he loved, working outside. Billy was born on September 8, 1956 in Big Lake, Texas to Mary Ruth Raney Averrit and the late Joe Zane Condrey. Billy graduated from Mount Vernon High School. After being called to the ministry, Billy attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Billy married the love of his life, and his best friend, Kimberly Kay Messimer, on June 25, 1976. Together they had three children who were taught to love the Lord and their families, all while living a lifetime of memories.
Billy surrendered to the call to preach when he was 30 years old. He started Grace Fellowship Ministries in Winnsboro in 1994 and lived his life as a servant of the Lord. As a Senior Pastor, Billy never stopped serving the basic needs of the church and working on the land around the church, nor tending to the needs of its members or the community. His passion for sharing the Word was evident in all that he did. Billy established a mission in El Salvador that encompassed an orphanage and a ministry to the pastors of local churches. Billy leaves behind a legacy of dedication to his Lord, a love of his family, and the desire to serve those around him that will live on in the lives of those he knew and loved.
Billy is survived by his wife Kim of Winnsboro; two sons, B.J. Condrey, and wife Allison, of Edinburgh, Scotland and Clay Condrey, and wife Melissa, of Longwood, Florida; one daughter, Cassie Condrey of Winnsboro; mother, Ruth Averrit of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Nathan Condrey, Adelyn Condrey, Tatum Condrey, Ezra Condrey, and Rhema Condrey; two sisters, Carolyn Bolin, and husband Dwight, and Rita Hughes, and husband Jimmy, all of Mount Vernon; and by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and very special friends.
