Barnabas Blake Hughes

Barnabas Blake Hughes, age 24, of Mount Vernon, Texas, entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 26, 2023.  Barnabas was born on December 14, 1998, in Carrollton, Texas to Roger and Crystal Hughes.  He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Synthia Strebeck and grandfather, William Hughes.

Barnabas is survived by his son, Michael Ray Hughes, father, Roger Hughes and partner Betty Jo Chauvin, and mother, Crystal Glasco and husband Peter Glasco; siblings, Abigail Hughes Sargent and husband Taylor, Colton Hughes, Ashlan Windorski, Hannah Glasco, Haley Glasco and Corbin Glasco, grandmother, Sandra and husband Mark Montgomery; grandfather, Ken and Tammy Certain, grandparents, Larry and Edith Smith; uncle, Dennis and wife Kristy Certain; aunts and uncles, Johnny and Tammy Glasco, Walter and Darla Glasco, and Patrick and Kathryn Glasco; his Wolf Pack - lifelong friends; girlfriend, Sydney Brown, as well as close family members, Hope Hughes, Misty Hughes, Jackie Moseley and Brad Wood.

Barnabas loved sports, mainly the Dallas Cowboys and the Boston Red Sox.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time.  As a foodie critic, he was known to take pictures of his meals and post them to his social media.  A friendly guy, he never met a stranger and was known to give you the shirt off his back.  His family and friends will remember him as a jokester, kindhearted, giving, and generous.  He will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 12:00 p.m.  Interment will be in Woodlawn, Texas at the Pope City Baptist Cemetery.
